Van Halen I caused a true revolution in the music world. Virtuoso, heavy, melodical and … awesome songs.
Who did not go wild in those days listening to the radio when the first sounds of
"Runnin' With The Devil", "You Really Got Me" or "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" were cast through the air?
Van Halen was different. Something that had never been heard before.
Van Halen brought a new dimension to the rock front: showmanship combined with musical virtuosity, poured over with a
sauce of sex, humor en self-mockery.
Especially Eddie Van Helen's blistering guitar playing and singer David Lee Roth's dynamic stage-act were striking eye-catchers. They were an inspirational source for many musicians.
Van Halen’s original line-up played in The Netherlands for the last time on the
Pinkpop Festival
in 1980.
And now…
… with FAN HALEN the spirit of Van Halen's original line-up (VHI – 1984) lives on.
